Attending theatre production yields alimentary treat
It doesn’t get better than this! I’ve been attending Aumentare productions since this theatre company started up. Partly, it’s because my friend, Lynna (a respected and fabulous director) was hired by them to direct their plays, partly because the chutzpah (in a great way) of a couple of people coming from a business background starting a theatre company, just like that, was amazing to me. But mostly, I went because I liked the idea of three one-act plays as an evening’s entertainment, and I liked their selection of plays.
Last time I went, I filled in their feedback form, because as someone who gets up in front of audiences myself on a regular basis, I believe in giving honest feedback in the interest of continual performance improvement, and I won their prize of a gift basket. And a spectacular gift basket it was: wine, cheese, paté, sweets - I should have taken a photo before tucking into it.
Their next production is in April 2007. Death Defying Acts, a collection of three hilarious One-Act Plays by Woody Allen, David Mamet and Elaine May. I definitely won’t miss it - see you there.
